About Word Grid
Word Grid is a quick word-finding puzzle on a five-by-five board of letters. Every board hides a small set of words, and your job is to trace each one by tapping letters that touch. Cells connect in all eight directions, so a word can run across, down, or along a diagonal. It starts in seconds, rewards a sharp eye, and gives your vocabulary a short, focused workout without any setup or sign-in.
Each round runs on a two-minute timer. Longer words are worth more points, so once you spot the obvious finds it pays to hunt for the bigger ones still hidden in the grid. The word list shows how many words remain and how long each one is, so you always know what you are looking for. Find them all before the clock runs out and the board is cleared; otherwise the round ends and your score is tallied.
The game is anonymous and made for short breaks. There are no accounts and nothing to install. When a round ends you get a quick recap of your score and how many words you found, plus a suggestion for another game to try next. Play again to get a fresh board with a new set of hidden words.
How to Play
- Press Start round to reveal the grid and begin the two-minute timer.
- Tap a letter to begin a word, then tap touching letters in order to trace the rest. Cells connect across, down, and diagonally.
- Press Submit when your traced letters spell one of the hidden words. Tap the last selected letter again, or press Clear, to undo your trace.
- Each correct word is revealed in the word list and adds to your score, with longer words worth more.
- Find every hidden word, or keep going until the timer ends, then press Play again for a new board.
Tips & Tricks
- Scan for short words first to build your score, then look for the longer words that are worth more points.
- Remember that diagonals count. Some hidden words run along a diagonal, so check corner-to-corner routes, not just straight rows and columns.
- Use the length hints in the word list to narrow your search; a five-letter blank tells you exactly how long the missing word is.
- If a trace goes wrong, tap the last letter again to step back one cell instead of clearing the whole word.
How scoring works
- Three-letter words are worth 10 points.
- Four-letter words are worth 20 points, and five-letter words are worth 40.
- Longer finds scale higher, so clearing the big words is the fastest way to a strong score.
Good to know
- No account is needed and no personal information is collected; play is anonymous.
- The board and its hidden words are fixed for each round, so it is fair to compare runs on the same board.
- A round ends when you find every word or when the two-minute timer reaches zero.
